You are now required to have a 40% deposit (subject to change) for this type of purchase – this can be either with cash reserves or the value you hold in your existing property/s. Check in though as this can vary depending on the lender and the type of investment. For example, a new build may require a lesser deposit.

The types of loans are very similar to Owner Occupied Home Loans and offer both variable and fixed rate loans and the option to make Principle and Interest payments, or interest only.

The most popular is the Revolving credit or flexible home loan, and interest only however you should be guided by your accountant to get the right set-up for your investment.
